Horizon Hobby Flight School

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Horizon Hobby Flight School coach. This is a great opportunity to share your love of flying RC airplanes with newcomers — which will help keep our hobby thriving for many years to come!

All applicants must be active members of their local AMA-chartered flying club and have experience helping others learn how to fly. Other expectations for preparation and conduct are outlined below.

Application Instructions

Use this form to provide us with your current biographical information. If your application is approved, you will be sent a link to create an account for accessing the Flight School portal where you manage your classes.

Upon signing into the portal, you must first watch the Flight School coaching video before scheduling any classes. After you have watched the video you will be listed on the Flight School Find a Coach page along with your biography and class schedule.

Expectations

If accepted as a Flight School Coach, I agree to the following:

I will follow the course of instruction explained in the video, which makes use of the SAFE® flight assistance technology found in Flight School qualifying models.
I will maintain an up-to-date schedule of my available class times on the Flight School web site.
I will schedule and host at least one Flight School session per 4-month period.
Before allowing students to fly, I will first inspect and fly their RC airplanes myself.
I will keep my AMA membership active and remain an active member of my local AMA-chartered flying club.
I will refrain from any conduct Horizon Hobby deems inappropriate or unbecoming of a Flight School coach.
